EP 104: Red Skull Incarnate

Stop Talking Son

Patrick and Dad are giddy over new microphones and mixers, which Dad still forgets to mind after 100+ episodes.

The treat is a bust because Patrick forgot his Canadian chocolate Wonka bars in his backpack and the melted in the heat.

Patrick and Dad read and discuss Greg Pak and Mirko Colak’s Miniseries detailing the rise of the Red Skull into the ranks of the Nazi Party from the ashes of the Weimar Republic.

Dad is a big fan of history so he digs into the historical setting and the boys discuss the chaos of post World War 1 and Treaty of Versaille era Germany.

Patrick makes the case that this is an inversion of the classic superhero origin story.  Instead of making all the right moral choices when facing problems and difficulties Johann Shmidt acts as a selfish monster.

Patrick and Dad love the faux propaganda David Aja covers and Patrick explains how covers once a preview for what readers are to expect inside the comic have become stand alone art in themselves.

Dad gets confused on the names and some major plot points but that is par for any episode.

Dad finishes the show by telling the audience to not leave five star reviews instead just two stars will work but to please send more emails.
