Patrick and Dad discuss  Onward Towards Our Noble Deaths and subversion and politics in comics.

Dad is not thrown by reading Manga and loves the book .
Dad and Patrick wonder if they were Japanese some of the jokes and dissident messages expressed by Shigeru Mizuki would have an even stronger impact.

Both father and son agree the contrasting art style, sharp prose, and pacing drive home the message even if Patrick cannot pronounce a single name.

Patrick explains Reddit which Dad is shocked to learn is a website thinking for months it was a person that emailed the show.

DC Omnibus collections and Flash history are machine gun explained to Dad.  

Dad thinks Wally West is a player, and makes a fair point that most of his problems stem from ex lovers.

Dad learns about splash pages and the pairing of writer artist teams.

Patrick is confused on how Linda West seems to change race based on comic colorists.

Patrick starts the show with some listener emails. 

He then tried to convince Dad that Scotland has a high mortality rate which Dad disbelieves. 

Dad relates the terror attack in France to comic art and free speech.  

Dad schools Patrick behind the history of how Charlie Hebdo adopted their name. 

Patrick and Dad discuss All-Star Superman in terms of capturing the essence of Superman. 

Dad loves Lois Lane’s ass. 

Dad understands about 50% while Patrick tries to explain the other 50%. 

Patrick glosses over some Superman history that leaves Dad scratching his noggin.

Dad is consumed with a fever not of the flu but to force Patrick for once to sit-down and discuss  C.O.W.L.

Dad Explains the history of  Detroit Police Phones in the 1960’s and 1970’s.

Patrick and Dad like the art from Rod Reis but are at a loss on how to describe the art.

Patrick and Dad discuss world building and the use of science fiction as allegory.

Patrick almost launches into a long and boring explanation of deconstruction in comics but reels it back in.
