EP 30: Revival vol 1 TPB

Things start strong with some email feedback about picking themes and being moved emotionally by comics.

Soon things began to fall apart as Patrick bumbles through explaining tropes to Dad.

The real madness begins as Revival   by Tim Seely and Mike Norton is fumbled through by Dad. He is not "mugged" by comics this time, he is just confused.

The breaks are hit and Patrick stops Dad from retelling the story panel by panel. Although Dad and Patrick dig the comic they wonder if it was more clear in single issue.

Next week Patrick will try to explain Superteams in comic to Dad using JLA: Vol 1  from Grant Morrison and Avengers Endless Wartime graphic novel.

EP 29: Too Cool To Be Forgotten

Dad is floored by Alex Robinson's Too Cool To Be Forgotten

Patrick tries to force Dad to discuss True Detective

Instead Dad wants to get right into discussing the emotional roller coaster that is Too Cool.

Patrick is touched by third act of the book but Dad cries early and often, and without restraint.

Dad is too emotional to discuss a second comic which means that Revival  from Tim Seely and Mike Norton instead is pushed to next week

Finally has Patrick convinced Dad to go to the movies with him Dad agrees?   For Captain America: Winter Soldier paired with the Greg Rucka series?  Maybe just Maybe

Looking for Comic Artist for Interview

When we began my father not only had zero exposure to  sequential art in his 65 years on earth but also regarding sequential comics as one step above the doodles made by of a 15 year old kid during Math class.

30+ episodes in and he is now exciting to read and discuss comics and understands basic concepts like panel layout, arcs, and basic storytelling tropes.

He recently stated he would like to have a comic artist explain the design, layout, and construction of the art.  I said I would reach and see if I could snag anyone to explain comic art on a podcast.

So I am just throwing it out here would like to come explain the art of comics to my Dad?
