Patrick and Dad revisit 2000 AD progs and finally discuss some Judge Dredd.  

Patrick wonders if 1980s Dredd holds up compared to the later versions of the charters.

EP 196: Wolverine: Logan

Patrick and Dad read Brian K Vaughn and Eduardo Risso’s three issue mini-series Wolverine: Logan.

Patrick and Dad open gifts from listening including Tasty Cakes, comic books, and well wishes.  

Patrick makes a pledge to read some more Manga down the road.  Dad is lukewarm on the comics But is gaga for Logan.  

Dad declares no spoilers on this show and that it should be an Oscar nominated film for 2018.

The podcast that is the weekly pursuit to teach my 68 year old father some concept in comics. Patrick and Dad read Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.  Is this Dad’s Batman?  Does it translate to a modern audience? and is Batman a fascist?   

Patrick and Dad revisit Frank Miller’s the Dark Knight returns.  Dad really enjoys some older, meaner and crazier Batman.

Patrick and Dad agree that some of the concepts are a bit ahead of times but are maybe lost on a modern audience.
